Pros
- Opportunities Have worked at companies of various sizes, the opportunities that Branch has for everyone are unlimited. It's pretty much up to each individual how you want to craft your own future at Branch. As long as you appreciate and practice branch values, the opportunities are everywhere and up for you to grasp. I can't emphasize enough the importance of Branch values. During interview, I usually tell candidates that if someone doesn't understand or appreciate Branch values, likely the person won't be able to survive at Branch. A common feedback that I hear is usually how great the people at Branch are. I couldn't agree more. However, only when one appreciates Branch values, one could get the help from all these great people. I'm referring to ownership, humility, initiative, urgency, girt, etc. Eventually, it's the most effective way if not the only way for someone to build one's own credibility at Branch and earn the respect from all the awesome people. Read some comments that mention politics. Branch is not a company that has less than 100 employees anymore. When there are more people at the company, the relationships are gonna be complicated. However, back to Branch values, to appreciate branch values is a quick and effective way to protect oneself from the politics. In my opinion, different people have different understanding of politics, and the worst outcome of politics is where nothing gets done, and responsibility gets pushed around. At Branch, we value how fast we move. It's never a case that nothing gets done, but probably a case of things don't go your way sometimes. - People One of our managers posted a Linkedin post with an image, in which a tiny dragon is riding a big panda. "Which is more important" asked Big Panda, "the journey or destination?" "The company." said Tiny Dragon. I remembered "the company" till today because I just can't agree more how fun and fulfiling it is to work along side this team. - Vision Branch has a clear company vision that never changes. We all believe in it and are getting closer to it by the day. All in all, Branch is a company with clear vision, amazing people, unlimited opportunities, but it's not for everyone.
Cons
- Lack of Experience To many people, managers meant the whole company to them. However, Branch is not a company filled with experienced managers who's job is only to manage the team. We value managers that lead from the front, fight the hardest battle and work harder than the hardest working person on the team. It is hard not to make mistakes, but it's the only way to learn.
