Pros

1. Good benefit (while downgrade on the meal allowance_ 2. Colleagues are nice and helpful, however, due to the competency on better project (or on project), the gap of information is enlarged 3. Good supporting function (e.g., knowledge and production team) 4. Global network (but the new data rules in PRC may impact the global knowledge sharing

Cons

1. Life is bad, project scope continuous to increase while resource not 2. Partner or MDP are too desperate for pipeline, sometimes "abuse" the use of non-charge code. - staffing knows but with no action 3. the limited pipeline force many A/C unable to meet the fungibility requirement, and become a way to force out people. Even if the colleagues has stated and raised the need for fungibility (like 1~2 year prior), staffing do nothing/ has very little help 4. Have some toxic PPL, especially the ones without resource & strong MDP support. Some of the storyline they made are clearly "useless" for clients, and that lead to recurring adjustment 5. Bad lifestyle, 14hr of work on avg. (for most ppl I know - more than 20 samples)

Pros

BCG has top tier benefits, really smart colleagues, good in-office perks, and has a great company reputation. This was a huge part of my experience and has made me go back forth about my decision to leave.

Cons

This is speaking as someone who is not on the consulting side. On my particular team, office politics were very strong with little to no opportunities for people outside of the inner circle to assimilate. More broadly, I feel like the salary trajectory was a little slow, there is a lack of location mobility and and promotions can be hard to come by. Even so, I have personally seen exceptions be made for certain people. More broadly, being located in North America can be difficult since new roles are being open in other regions which is making internal mobility next to impossible. If you have any dissatisfaction with your current team, title, or level - there's a real possibility that you will have to wait multiple years before being able to make meaningful shifts towards your long term career goals.
