Pros

I would like to take time here - BCG take care of well being of every one - Free food and snacks ( Only point many people think not to shift) - Very good health insurance which covers dental and vision care - Party hard and outings - Your career would be great if you are under a good manager (but pretty less chances) - Smart jugard implementation crowd - Good to have exposure for 2-3 years only

Cons

Here comes the reality - Over time(make sure sacrifice ME time) - Blame game culture not supportive crowd to work with - No Job security - I have seen two layoffs at senior levels like manager and above they were laid of all of sudden they won't come to office then you will get gossips that they have resigned (this is way back before corona) - Much delayed promotion (saw people at same level with 7 years as Lead) - Entire universe they have only benchmarking projects nothing other than this, after some time you will not be able to sell yourself with domain skills a big hit to your CV - Starting from last year less than 10% hike - Politics (dangerous politics I would like to highlight) - Rude top management - Racism, red tapism, rating based on gossips - No value for lateral entry they just believe inside groups - Start a group and spread gossips around until it reaches managers - Heavy pressure employees would be kept in PIP frequently - If you are at Bangalore then don't forget you don't have a strong management to hold you back it would be like you are vendor to Delhi office

Pros

BCG has top tier benefits, really smart colleagues, good in-office perks, and has a great company reputation. This was a huge part of my experience and has made me go back forth about my decision to leave.

Cons

This is speaking as someone who is not on the consulting side. On my particular team, office politics were very strong with little to no opportunities for people outside of the inner circle to assimilate. More broadly, I feel like the salary trajectory was a little slow, there is a lack of location mobility and and promotions can be hard to come by. Even so, I have personally seen exceptions be made for certain people. More broadly, being located in North America can be difficult since new roles are being open in other regions which is making internal mobility next to impossible. If you have any dissatisfaction with your current team, title, or level - there's a real possibility that you will have to wait multiple years before being able to make meaningful shifts towards your long term career goals.
