Pros

The best part of working here was definitely the people. My coworkers were kind, supportive, and always willing to help. They really kept me going. There were also some nice perks like free lunches, a gym membership, and boba tea products every now and then.

Cons

I joined this company with excitement, but it quickly turned into one of the most emotionally exhausting experiences of my career. The work environment is highly toxic, with constant turnover that reflects deeper issues in management and culture. I often felt undervalued, manipulated, and pushed beyond reasonable limits like my well being didn’t matter, only the output I could deliver. Despite giving my best, I was regularly gaslighted and made to feel inadequate. The lack of genuine support, transparency, and basic respect left me overwhelmed and, eventually, in therapy. There’s also a clear pattern of favoritism and exclusion that creates a stressful and unhealthy dynamic among the team. If you’re someone who values mutual respect, psychological safety, and sustainable growth, I’d strongly caution against working here. This environment took a serious toll on my mental health, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Pros

I was honestly surprised to see some of the negative reviews here, because they didn’t reflect my experience at Boba Tea Protein at all. If those challenges were true at one point, it’s very clear the company has made major improvements since then. From my time working here, the team felt supportive, collaborative, and genuinely invested in building something special. Leadership was open to feedback, communication was clear, and there was a strong sense of momentum and growth. I felt trusted in my role and encouraged to contribute ideas, which made the work both motivating and rewarding. Overall, I had a very positive experience and would absolutely recommend Boba Tea Protein to anyone looking to work with a driven team that’s evolving in the right direction.

Cons

Like any growing company, things can move fast so be prepared to wear multiple hats.

Pros

I worked with Boba Tea Protein as a freelance visual content creator, supporting the brand over several months with ongoing digital creation. My role included directing and photographing products and campaigns, creating visual assets for social media and multi-platform use and contributing graphic design support as needed. From the beginning, my experience with Boba Tea Protein was very positive. Neil Hoang, the owner, was consistently professional, supportive, collaborative and clear in his communication. Every project felt well-organized and I always felt respected as a creative partner. Even after my initial contract ended, the team has continued to bring me back for occasional visual support on upcoming campaigns, which I think speaks volumes about the working relationship. During my time working with the brand, I met passionate, kind people who genuinely cared about the mission and the quality of what they were creating. The environment was welcoming and encouraging and collaboration always felt easy and productive. I was honestly surprised to see some negative reviews online, as they do not reflect my personal experience at all. Based on my time working with Boba Tea Protein, it’s clear that the company operates professionally and that any past issues must have been addressed long before my involvement. I also want to note that Neil Hoang and his wife, Klair Hoang, have been among my favorite clients to work with — not only because of the work environment they foster, but also because of how supportive and appreciative they are of creative collaborators. Overall, I truly enjoyed working with Boba Tea Protein and would happily continue collaborating in the future.

Cons

As a freelance collaborator, my role was project-based rather than full-time, so I can’t speak to long-term internal operations. Fast-growing brand environment may feel dynamic and ever-evolving, which requires flexibility (this was not a negative for me personally).
