Pros

There's something truly special about knowing the work you're doing every day has a positive impact in the lives of others. Getting to do that work with kind and passionate people is the cherry on top. BetterLesson is gearing up for rapid growth and I'm thrilled to make my contributions to that growth in my day to day. We work hard but we play hard too. The flexibility offered by being fully remote allows me to ensure that I'm dedicating just as much time and energy to my personal life as I do to my professional life. I can't wait to see what the next few years has in store for BetterLesson and I'm grateful to be a part of it.

Cons

Navigating a fully remote environment as a new employee can sometimes be challenging. However, BetterLesson does a great job of making it clear that everyone subscribes to having an "open door policy".

Pros

In general, the school clients are lovely to work with and some of the other contractors are highly skilled and professional.

Cons

I can't stress this enough: If you are a contractor, do NOT sign on with this company. In the past year, they have never paid on time according to the contract or scope of work. They often do not reimburse contractors for travel for months at a time. They are currently three months behind on payments to contractors. There is a great underlying insecurity at the company. Every time a pay period comes around, contractors wonder if they will be paid. The answer? No. For the past 6 months, contractors receive mass emails saying when they MIGHT be paid and these dates often come and go with no payment. There is no direct message from the company's leadership. Bottom line: if you want to feel valued as worker AND you want to get compensated for your labor, as agreed, steer clear of this organization.
