Pros

Working at Berman Subaru has been a high point in my career. Here are some of the "pro's" that I see: 1. Ownership - given the ability to hire amazing talent, recognize their accomplishments and provide a very above average wage for them to support themselves/family. 2. Excellent relationship with my Dealer Principal Todd Berman - When I say that I feel as if I am part of his family, I don't say it as a tag line because he has proven it through action! I would run through a wall for that man. 3. Store location - We are located right off of I-90 so it makes it easy to get to work.....unless there is construction which never happens. lol. 4. Atmosphere - We are NOT stuffy! We do not require you to wear a tie, in Fixed Operations you are allowed to wear jeans on Fridays and Saturdays. We like to have FUN in between providing our customers with AMAZING customer support! 5. Ability to grow - Berman Auto Group LOVES to promote from within! Before we search for candidates outside of our group, we look at our current staff for our future leaders. This does not just mean at the store you are working at but we look for talent in all of our stores. 6. Flexibility - Life comes at you fast, things happen in our lives that we must or want to attend. Some special moments that if you miss, you will never get the chance to experience again. Come in to work each day, be 5 minutes early and give it your all every day. When you have something important in your life, I allow my staff the time so they can have a great work/home/life balance. That does not mean every Saturday off, but there are times when you need that long weekend, let us know and we will work with you so you can love your life and your job! 7. Customers - I am NOT kidding, our customers are the best! Will you deal with upset customers, yes. Is everyday going to be roses and wine and everything fine...of course not. I have to give it up for the overall customer base that we have though and say they are freaking awesome!

Cons

It does not matter where you work, there are things you like and some you don't. Here are some "cons" to working here: 1. Street parking - Real Estate is EXPENSIVE in Chicago. We do not have enough space to have employee parking. You don't have to pay to park in the streets around our dealership unless you park your car on Irving Park....don't park your car on Irving...lol 2. Space is tight - We are grateful to have a busy dealership! With that being said, space is a premium and makes it more difficult in certain times of the year. 3. Four properties - As I mentioned, space is a premium so we have four different properties we work out of. We have the three here in a row on Irving Park and a parking garage 1.5 miles away on Montrose where we store our new car inventory. 4. Store Location - It is a pro and a con depending on where you live. The good news is the construction is finally done on the Kennedy! 5. High standards of customer satisfaction - We are striving to be THE best Subaru store in Chicago. We have done an AMAZING job of hiring some excellent talent that has allowed us to get closer to this goal but we still have work to do. If you are not interested in bringing your best version of yourself to work consistently, this is not the place for you.

Pros

Very positive experience. Every day is dynamic, with tasks like planning campaigns, managing social media, and working closely with different departments. What I appreciate most is being part of a team that is always open to listening, sharing new ideas, and working together for the growth of the company. At the same time, there is space to express yourself, bring creative input, and grow professionally. The culture is supportive, team-oriented, and focused on success, which makes the job both rewarding and motivating.

Cons

Need to balance multiple priorities
