Pros

- Nice office in Monument overlooking the river - Employees generally friendly - Good work-life balance for the industry (my hours were around 9-6 on average)

Cons

- Long periods spent on the bench - not enough work to go around yet they seem to still be recruiting hard at the junior levels, very high churn - Boring work if you're lucky enough to get onto a project in the first place, also often meant being in the midlands or north of England for 4-5 days per week - Poorly paid relative to other consultancies with slow progression and small bonuses

We are very sorry to hear you didn’t have the experience we strive to provide for our employees at BearingPoint. We take full care to ensure our employees are listened to, and gain the full consultancy experience whilst with us. As is the nature of consulting, there will always be periods of time where some staff may not be on a project, and we look to provide alternative, stimulating non-project work opportunities whilst they are on the bench. We also always endeavour to consult with our staff before they are put onto a project, taking the time to understand individual career goals and industry interests, and wherever possible ensure projects are aligned to this. At present, our consultants are fully utilised, and because of this we are investing in our recruitment activities – growing the firm through it’s people and talent. We also ensure we provide competitive remuneration to our employees, benchmarking against the industry, with a competitive performance related bonus system in place.

Thank you for your review. You refer to a different company, namely BearingPoint Inc. Our company, BearingPoint headquartered in Europe, has been a separate legal entity and conducted a management buyout in 2009. Its development since then is very positive, see our Annual Report: https://www.bearingpoint.com/files/BearingPoint_Annual_Report_24.pdf

Pros

Good pay, good location, other employees are good to work with.

Cons

This organization is deeply mismanaged. The four U.S. partners are consistently at odds with one another and unable to collaborate, often dragging employees into their conflicts. The lead U.S. partner regularly makes inappropriate, sexist remarks, despite being a father to daughters, creating a hostile environment. Employees are encouraged to report issues to HR, but concerns are routinely dismissed, and no meaningful action is taken. Speaking up only puts a target on your back, several employees who voiced concerns were included in subsequent rounds of layoffs. The global leadership team is fully aware of the ongoing dysfunction, especially at the partner level, yet chooses to ignore it in favor of their own career advancement. This lack of accountability at every level makes for an incredibly toxic and demoralizing workplace.
