Pros

Bayer use to be very people oriented. The maternity benefits use to be the best in the country and written as the best place for women to work by Fortune 500. The awards program and bonuses at Bayer are great. Recognition for work above and beyond is common. Promotions were available as well as making lateral moves. Career opportunities were made available. Benefits were also very good at the start. Employee morale use to be very good. Was a great place to work at least until the acquisition. People were treated with fairness and respect. I thought it would be the best place to retire.

Cons

The acquisition has been very difficult. Employee morale went down once sites began to close and people started to get laid off. Was very stressful and unhappy environment to work. The benefits started to be reduced, especially the maternity benefits.

Pros

I met some really great people there. I felt like I was truly a part of something bigger than myself. Loved the goal... health for all, hunger for none. I mentored some brilliant minds, and I am honored to have been there to support them.

Cons

If the team you're working with likes you, you're golden. If you do things a little differently but can still achieve good results, it will not be enough. Basically, fit in or they will find clever ways to get rid of you, like putting you in charge of a project that you have little-to-no experience working on, and then terminate you when things aren't 100% better.
