Pros

Discount is good if you really like BPS branded merchandise. Work environment is casual and friendly for the most part, although it seems phony most times.

Cons

Management needs to learn the day to day operations of the store. Requests are often unreasonable. Benefits are poor. Health coverage is really expensive for lousy coverage. Pay scale is unfair. Some departments start their associates at a much higher rate because of the prestige associated with the department, i.e. hunting, fishing. Raises and reviews are a joke, practically insulting.

Pros

Bass Pro Shops has a strong team culture, and the people are one of the best parts of working here. I've had the opportunity to work with talented and supportive coworkers who are willing to collaborate and help each other succeed. The company also offers exposure to large-scale marketing initiatives and provides opportunities to work on a variety of projects across multiple channels and business areas.

Cons

The compensation and benefits package could be more competitive, especially when compared to similar marketing roles in the industry. Project timelines are often extremely aggressive, leaving little room for unexpected challenges and creating a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. While the work can be rewarding, the combination of tight deadlines and limited resources can make it difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance at times.
