    Pros

    Opportunities to travel to train and help open new stores. Fun events always happening in store.

    Cons

    Made to do 3 peoples jobs all at once after they quit, this went on for 6 months, they were unwilling to pay me the same wage as the former employees had made doing only one job. Management has a problem with hard workers if it means they have to do any more work to improve the store. Any ripple in the happy facade in a hopes to better the workplace is frowned upon. Keep your head down
    , mouth shut, and do the bare minimum is the goal.

    Advice to Management

    Value your employees with good work ethic and you’ll keep them.

    Good discount. Team leads and coworkers are usually very good.

    Cons

    Too much work, under staffed, low wages.

    Advice to Management

    Pay good wages and you will get good staff. Provide schedules at least a week in advance.

    I have been working at Bass Pro Shops full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Beautiful scenery, loved interacting with the guests and VERY limited staff. The company discount was great and even though I had to train myself for the most part, it made me stronger.

    Cons

    Absolute snake pit. The back stabbing, cliquish and gossiping behaviour by staff and management is a call for serious help. Huge turnover rates of good people. The leftovers are those who are like minded, or stuck or wanting out!

    Advice to Management

    Get help! Don't hush those of us trying to call it as it is. The environment is toxic. It will be your downfall and it's happening under your noses. Especially with management named. The store can be great again!! Open your eyes.

    I worked at Bass Pro Shops full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    The main pro was the hourly staff. They were in general very nice, kind, and genuinely good people.

    Cons

    The company has become a corporation in the past three years. It is giving companies like Wal-Mart a good name. It no longer cares about the employee, just the money it can make. This is no longer the company that Johnny Morris created.

    Advice to Management

    Get your heads out of the clouds and remember your company will thrive or die based off of the hourly associates at the stores.

    Pros

    Bass pro offers its full time employees benefits and every other weekend off. Great for retail. Bass pro is what you make it. Easy to advance in the company if you work hard.

    Cons

    Favouritism sometimes prevails when it comes to job promotion and or assigned duties within departments. Asssociates re not always rewarded for hard work.

    Very friendly co-workers. Enjoyed in setting up the store start to finish.

    Cons

    Horrible management. Never getting involved with the staff members on the floor or at customer service. HR has no involvement with the staff and goes against them with Management. Staff members are undermined and treated with no respect from upper management. Sorry to say a great store like this has been declining due to the Management in the store.

    Advice to Management

    Needs to go and be trained on how to handle his employees.
