Pros

- You can work at 10% capacity and no one will notice. - Bank makes a lot of money with very little effort. Is not subjected to intense competition like ecommerce etc. Therefore, if you want an easy job this place is great.

Cons

- Top down. Every decision is made by a decision committee and then handed down to the employees. Very hierarchical. Employees are not encouraged to make decisions or have a sense of ownership. - Managers surround themselves with "yes-mens". Everyone is busy having an ego-trip. As long as you feed the egos, you are good. - Very poor decision making by the decision committees. Decisions are not based on commercial gains but a host of ego centric factors. Decision committees are staffed by people who can "talk" but are not subject matter experts. These poor decisions are then handed down to the employees for execution who get blamed in the end when the project inevitably ends in failure - Lot of talk about values but not practised. Be prepared to sacrifice your integrity everyday at this job. Honest and integrity are not encouraged. - A normal day consists of making tons and tons of power points, attending meetings and generally talking rubbish. Outdated processes, outdated technology.
