      Pros

      I worked in Production IT - BarCap has good systems, and competent people.

      Cons

      Teams are too lean, and as a result there is no bandwidth to deal with any sudden issues. People are tired and stressed. There is a complete lack of training/planning. BarCap also has a policy of normalisation, so when you get graded you might have gotten a B, but because of the Bell curve that gets marked down to a C. Middle Management has no idea who works for them; if you are involved in BAU work your invisible.

      Cons

      Pay is the lowest compared to similar company with the same role. Upper management speaks to staff with a patronizing tone; cutting them off, and talking down to them. At times it felt like they purposefully were attempting to find things wrong instead of working together as a team to meet objectives. Understaffed. Fully expected to do the work of a team of 6 despite being a team of 2 for example.
