Pros

The training is very good -- but considering that turn-over is high and there are ALWAYS new people being brought in, there'd be no excuse if it weren't. The other agents were helpful and very willing to share information and insights.

Cons

They tell you that you'll go out on appointments with veteran agents so you can start earning right away. Perhaps. The catch is that YOU have to book the appointments, and any commission earned will be split 50-50 with the field trainer. But what they don't tell you is that the field trainer makes an additional 40% as an incentive for taking out new agents. The leads are abysmal. They are re-recycled, and you will NEVER get leads on an exclusive basis; they all are shared. Yet you are charged for them. You also are charged for office supplies, use of a cubicle, and the telephone. And, speaking of phones, be prepared to make hundreds of calls each week along with knocking on doors, The commission structure (BTW, it's 100% commission, with no benefits) is impenetrable, and no one can accurately predict what they will make on a given sale and when they will be paid in full. The products are a bit over-priced, and sales are very hard to come by. As a result, of the 17 people in my training class, only 1 of us was still there after one year. My sales manager berated me and accused me of not being totally committed to Bankers and selling their products because I had to take a part-time job evenings and weekends just to have some steady cash flowing IN instead of it all flowing OUT.

Pros

I have 11 companies I can be appointed with - making sure my clients get the best program for what they NEED. A great opportunity to receive great training, work with great people and make a great living, all for helping people.

Cons

This opportunity is just that, an opportunity. Those who don't take advantage of it won't think it is a good one. Even successful people deal with a ton of rejection, thick skin is needed. With a 40% closing ratio, I still hear "No" more than "Yes".
