Pros

It is a capital intensive business that require critical thinking even in Train Service Capacity it either will conquer the person unable to deal with the demands or will elevate them to position of Self fulfillment. Financially it can be quite rewarding but if you come to the railroad for paycheck I personally think you are here for the wrong reasons, I came here for the railroad and to bring as much to the table as I could muster, I believe that BNSF fosters a strong work ethic and makes safety a way of Life. I am Proud to say I work for the BNSF Railway!

Cons

I can not come up wit any negatives about the Railroad from a company standpoint. I believe the BNSF Railway makes decisions that protect the stockholders and since they run they own and run the company and pay my salary I have very little to complain about maybe I could complain about the folks who clean the motors but that is not the company's fault it is the employees fault in that position not doing his or her job with most loyal dedication to the company that pays them...

Pros

Great people and strong coworkers across the organization. The company offers competitive pay, strong benefits, and good overall stability. There are many experienced employees who care about the work and are willing to help others succeed.

Cons

The organization can be very hierarchical, which sometimes makes it difficult to drive change or move quickly. Decisions often require multiple layers of approval, so it can take longer than expected to finalize direction or make progress. There is also limited flexibility compared to what many other companies offer, especially when it comes to working arrangements.

Pros

This is a great place to start and grow your career, especially as an MT, with tons of opportunities to take on projects and explore what interests you. Leadership at every level is genuinely supportive and approachable, and people across the company are always willing to teach, mentor, and help you succeed. Compensation and benefits are competitive, and the Business Resource Groups really add to the sense of community and development.

Cons

There are so many opportunities that it can sometimes feel a little overwhelming figuring out what path to focus on. Balancing day-to-day work with all the development options can be a bit challenging depending on your role and workload.
