Pros

Avanade tries to support flexible working with their clients. The home office is good, with coffee, etc. A lot of access to Microsoft training, healthcare, and mental health support. The people you’ll work with directly are great, although management is confused.

Cons

The company has changed a lot in the time I’ve worked here, from feeling like people want to do a good job, to focussing on internal squabbles and the short term. I have absolutely no confidence in the UK management - the new Accenture manager isn’t seen, and doesn’t seem to understand what made Avanade great. People are leaving or being fired by another name - either because of a clash with the new culture, or because the company hasn’t sold enough work. The company sells projects based on old technology, without investing in anything new. The company used to feel friendly and supportive, now it feels like Accenture. Management either isn’t giving clear examples of what they want, or they are being clear about expectations, but not enabling people to hit them.

Pros

A really nice office with perks and company culture that come from Accenture.

Cons

There is a prioritization with getting certifications and doing a lot of tasks outside of full time client work, just to get promoted. If you are in the bench and it’s a slow season, there is a high risk of getting laid off. You will lose your sense of purpose all for the trendy AI culture. The company thrives on buzz terms and marketing solutions rather than actually solving anything.
