Pros

As a recent college grad, I think that Avanade is the perfect place to start. They offer an array of training programs, boot camps, online resources, and certification courses to help you grow your network, increase your skillset, and enhance your career profile. On top of that, if you’re someone who wants to travel and needs flexibility in choosing projects, then this is the place for you. Within a few months, I was able to broaden my technical skillset and add several new programs, platforms, and coding languages to my portfolio. I was also able to work with large clients (including some from the Big Four) which gave me opportunities to be a part of some amazing projects in production. To top it all off, I was assigned to a career advisor that genuinely wants me to grow and improve. Career advisors are there to keep you on track, answer your questions, and guide you through the first stages of being a new hire at Avanade.

Cons

If you’re someone who’s not into independent self-study, then the beginning can feel very slow. It may be hard to get staffed onto a project initially (though that is not always the case), but there are so many resources available to you. If you find yourself bored or wasting your time, use Avanade’s tools; talk to people; sign up for events; propose yourself to projects; and practice what you know. Also, there will be times where you might not 100% love the project you’re on, but every experience here is a learning experience. You have the flexibility to apply for projects suited to your preferences, but you can’t be too picky about it.

Pros

A really nice office with perks and company culture that come from Accenture.

Cons

There is a prioritization with getting certifications and doing a lot of tasks outside of full time client work, just to get promoted. If you are in the bench and it’s a slow season, there is a high risk of getting laid off. You will lose your sense of purpose all for the trendy AI culture. The company thrives on buzz terms and marketing solutions rather than actually solving anything.
