Pros

You work with a wide range of customers and equipment since the majority of things are not standardized. You will learn to be self sufficient since team leads do not have enough time to do their duties and help you out. If you join the road crew you'll spend less time in the office and get paid to drive but expect less than 40 cents/mile and no drive time included in your tickets. You will do sys admin work so great for padding a resume. IT director was great when they were here. You'll have a great selection of tools available to you since you'll have to buy your own. You can trigger a conversation about your job by updating your resume on indeed. Since they run a query to check if any current employees have updated their resume. Company lunches are nice. Best combined with new hire lunches especially when they leave the company right after. Chance to make $400 for submitting reviews to make the company look good vs provide an honest review. Sysadmin work which looks good on a resume. Especially since you can say you did it all without documentation.

Cons

Lack of growth available. After the director of IT left (which should say something) his responsibility was divided onto others who barely have enough time as it is. The company is always interviewing and at the same time turning people away for lack of positions. You will work on anything. From games to a complete site outages. No sick leave and PTO does not get paid out if/when you leave. And PTO can only be used if minimum staffing is met unless you're upper management. Poor compensation backed y management's claims they pay based on UGA's pay. Audits are a joke and collect no information. CEO refuses to sell anything other than SonicWalls and has no problem quoting a ridiculous firewall for a small customer. On call rotation is an additional shift and not reserved for emergencies. In order to get paid you will have to enter time on each ticket. While others can enter time in 8 hour blocks. Poor pay and benefits. Expect at help desk from $9 to $15. Desktop makes about $16 to $17. Network starts at $17. Certian rules and polices only apply to certain levels. See the part time CFO wearing whatever they want. Office equipment is old and in need of being refreshed. Lack of tools for techs. And tools provided are hand me downs from either customers or other techs.

Thank you for providing this feedback! Our wide range of customers is what gives our Engineers the opportunity to work on a variety of programs, applications, and other technology. Also, the IT Director missed Athens Micro so much he decided to return. We’ve been recently revamping compensation, benefits, and other areas in order to show our employees we care about them. This includes improving communication throughout the company as well.

Pros

Opportunity to work from home, decent pay, pay for certifications

Cons

Annoying time keeping procedures, hourly budget for projects that is often unreasonable, expectation to work after hours far more often than they claim. Running on less crew than they need.

We appreciate you taking the time to write this review. However, we strongly disagree with you that only some of our employees are good people. Our employees are the most helpful, smart, and genuine group of people that I have had the pleasure of working with. Everyone you worked with tried to help you succeed. You were hired for a 40 hour per week job though and you routinely missed work averaging just 32 hours per week. You were allowed to do this due to your personal issues which we feel was very generous to you, treating you like family. I am sorry you did not see it that way. The timekeeping procedures are typical in this industry and especially important for hourly employees who are missing a lot of work like you were. I am sorry that seemed to be such a burden to you. Overall, I think we both realized this was not the right job for you at this time in your life. Sometimes things work out that way and we had no hard feelings to you upon your departure. It saddens us all here to now find you think most of us are bad people. We cannot disagree strongly enough.
