      Pros

      A position at Arup generally involves exposure to project variety that keeps work very interesting. It also provides a lot of opportunities to upskill and grow capabilities, and re-align career paths within the firm with shifting ambitions.

      Cons

      As an employee-owned firm, big decisions require consensus that can take some time to reach. This means that change is more gradual than in smaller firms or ones based on consolidation of power at the top.

      Pros

      Working at Arup was a great experience, surrounded by smart, motivated, and mission-driven peers.

      Cons

      This may have since improved, but at least previously, the America's region felt rather second-class compared to UK. Most/all senior leadership, even in the US, was British.

      great supervisor, lots of professional development opportunities

      Cons

      insane workload and expect you to be available for work 24/7. some teams are drowning and others have no resourcing. layoffs happen completely randomly and they lay off people who are 100 percent billable. profit share is bs and you get nothing as a junior member
