Poor retention of mid-level professional staff. Senior staff do not move on and block advancement. There are few female senior managers and even fewer black professionals at senior management level. The amalgamation of Hyder Consulting into Arcadis meant that there was a small influx of minorities into senior management roles who possess engineering and environmental technical skills. Nevertheless, Arcadis is a good company and the weaknesses mentioned above are merely a reflection of an industry wide problem. Arcadis is a good company in the round.
