I believe AppFolio is taking a slow, painful downward spiral as new processes and initiatives are put in place to drastically cut costs, even at the expense of their own employees and customers. It is honestly disappointing and shameful to see how executives and upper management is responding to valid concerns from consumers and customers and increased fees for tenants to pay rent, almost looking at them like "oops, too bad." Until recently, promotions and raises have now been cut on recurring reviews and the new CEO has aggressively made his mark by repeatedly enforcing this notion that there is only so much more work to do. It's blatantly obvious how low the morale is amongst employees and how much animosity between management and employees has increased. Company scores, internal and external, are the lowest they've ever been and it feels like it takes ages for executive team to genuinely respond to this with its employees in mind.
