Pros

*PTO and flexible work schedule *WFH (certainly depends on the person)

Cons

Where do I begin. On paper, this job comes across as a fantastic opportunity, you work from home, basically make your own schedule and have your pay check at the palm of your hand. You will quickly realize that you have been duped. During the reciting process, they will tell you that yes its cold calling but you are calling people that want to sign up for this product, the same thing is told during training. That is only the case for the top of the top sales reps, the res of you are calling recycled, multiple year old leads that may have bee called just two weeks before you. Some of these leads are taken from the DO NOT CALL LIST after a certain amount of time and put back into your pipeline. You are not told that in order to be successful, you need to prospect your leads outside of work. This job is a call factory from the comfort of your own home. For 8 hours a day, you will just call, and call and call. If that is something you'd like then this job is for you. If not, and you would like to use your brain then find another job because this is as boring as it gets. You must have 3 hours of talk time a day, any less you will be disciplined, and anything less than 4-5 pitches a day (5 min conversation) will lead your manager to think you aren't putting in enough effort. It is tough to keep a 5 min conversation with someone who just said no to the service the week prior. Overall the practices of the company do not align with my morals. They teach you to basically ignore everything the person you are speaking with is saying, in order to get to where you ask for their credit card. It is ignore, tell them why they are wrong, then ask 4-5 sometimes 6 times for their credit card at the end of this 15 min conversation. Some of these people you sign up, really don't know what they are signing up for, or how to use it but as a sales rep that is not our problem. If you like signing up people who have small business where every dollar counts, to a service that will make them lose more money than they make, this job is for you. The service itself is beyond wrong. Management tells you to set these people up with insane high spend targets, basically making sure that these contractors get a bunch of leads and spend money. The leads they receive aren't guaranteed jobs, but they are charged for them anyway. Ive seen guys have their credit cards billed thousands of dollars on jobs they never had chance to get. The service is set up for Angi to make the most money and sometimes scam the guy you are on the phone with. Lastly, this organization is a cult. Management worships top sales reps like they are a God. You need to be at the top of the top to have any type of success here because the "hot leads" those ones you are told about during the recruiting process, only go to the top reps. If you aren't one of them, you are set up to fail. If you don't make budget in a two week time frame, your past success does not matter, they will put you on a corrective action plan and find any which way to get rid of you. There is a reason why the turnover rate is so high.

We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review about your experience on our sales team. Our PTO benefits and flexible work schedules are great perks to calling Angi home; however we are sorry to learn about the concerns detailed in the rest of your review. Our inside sales representative roles require large volumes of calling which we are transparent about within our job descriptions. We've seen many team members lead meaningful careers and become top performers and wish to see that for each individual who joins our team. Leads are distributed fairly and provided to individuals who meet clearly defined thresholds. All resources and training to hit these benchmarks are available universally to all team members. We are proud of the services we extend to our partners and have seen many local businesses thrive as a result of using our product and investing in ads. Integrity is extremely important to us which is why we have dedicated QA teams listen in periodically on calls to monitor various situations as they arise and provide feedback to help secure future partners so our reps can experience continued success. We wish your experience with us was better but wish you the best in your next endeavor! - Tom Cheatham, SVP Sales Strategy

Pros

The culture is generally positive, and leadership is accessible. Management is willing to meet with employees and listen to concerns. There are talented people throughout the organization, and the work can be rewarding if you enjoy sales and helping businesses grow.

Cons

The biggest challenge is the compensation structure. The company promotes uncapped commissions, but many employees feel earnings are effectively controlled through continually increasing quotas and changing performance targets. Revenue and nominal goals are adjusted so frequently that it can feel like the finish line is always moving. What's particularly frustrating is that the majority of the sales team often struggles to reach 100% of quota, yet goals continue to rise. This creates the perception that compensation expense is being managed through quota increases rather than by allowing top performers to fully benefit from the revenue they generate. Over time, this can discourage high achievers. Employees who consistently perform well are often expected to deliver significantly more results each year just to maintain the same level of compensation. When exceptional performance is met with ever-increasing targets instead of proportionally increasing rewards, motivation suffers.
