Pros

Profitable business Strong product teams Friendly front-line managers and coworkers(front-line engineers)

Cons

Very toxic engineering culture, a culture of neglect: No training or knowledge transfer sessions for new hires. From CTO to directors, push you to figure out everything. It's like a new tax driver driving in a new city without a map. The only help is your coworkers and front-end managers(some of them are nice). But many of them already left. Lots of legacy code, yet they put new hires on-call 24hrs support. good luck! No vision: CTO/SVP/Senior Managers has no sense of architecture or any vision or long term plans. They are laziest I've ever worked with. When you ask them about architecture or roadmaps, they will ignore you. As engineering managers, they don't care about quality at all. When you fail, they blame you.

Thank you for your review! We are incredibly proud of our product engineering teams and the open, friendly culture we’ve built at Angi! We are disappointed to hear your perspective on our engineering culture. Our aim is to provide a supportive and growth-oriented environment, which we work with all teams to create. We understand, however, that there is always room to grow, and will work on ensuring that everyone has a positive experience. As an inclusive engineering team, we want everyone’s ideas to be heard and to contribute to the future of Angi. Your role or title doesn't limit your ability to contribute ideas and make change, so we appreciate your feedback. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

There were a lot of pros, remote work, collaborative team, friendly culture. Over the years it went all belly up. Now it's all do or die scenario, See the cons.

Cons

From mid-2023, the company suddenly started changing into a hostile environment. So many tenured people were let go, not just in the middle or entry positions; but VPs and directors too. At the beginning of 2024 middle management also started playing unhealthy politics and backbiting. In the last year, I had 4 different supervisors and everytime the reporting manager changed, I felt like I was working at a whole new company. It took a mental toll on me to keep my team members motivated. And when I started expressing my concern on these lack of motivation, burnout and stress - they let me go. What a tactic!

Thank you for leaving a review, we are so glad to hear that you enjoyed the remote work environment. We have this in place to allow our team members to get away from the demands of the job and maintain a positive work/life balance. At Angi, we ensure that we have the right teams in place to take on our mission and drive innovation. This means that at times we add more teams and expand and at other times we re-evaluate and so that our current talent aligns with our Company goals. We thank you for your contribution to Angi over the years and wish you the best moving forward. -Izzy Hechkoff, VP of Sales Strategy and Optimization
