Pros
Decent Pay, nice health benefits, great if you like to travel, Union membership available in some positions, opportunity to work with some antique rail equipment.
Cons
Many Supervisors are incompetent, lazy, and unable to adapt to change, some are thieves and are protected by archaic union contracts. The company was plagued by theft and fraud on the trains, so they implemented a cumbersome, illogical accounting system to try to stem it, instead of just getting rid of the thieves. The system is designed to punish good and bad employees, there is little incentive to get good results. Senior Management is out of touch with operations and seems disinterested in launching any initiative to improve the culture.
