Pros

-Great PTO -Great co-workers (that is WITHIN your department, otherwise no one really talks to you) -Good flexibility with your schedule- you pretty much plan your week out the way you want to as long as you're hitting your meeting requirements -The sponsors- so many opportunities to meet great people within the community and gain sales experience in different environments (business, community, government, religious, etc) -Knowing you are working for a purpose

Cons

Where to begin...... -Demand for blood is down.....significantly. With that, tons of layoffs, less staff to send to drives, more responsibilities on top of making sure you're hitting goals, etc. -Communication is awful between departments - it's almost like everyone is against each other and not all out to achieve the same mission -Goals are becoming harder and harder to achieve -Things are run like it's 1995 - the website is constantly down so donors can't sign up for a blood drive, we are still using WINDOWS XP hence why the computers are so slow, and there isn't a simple way to utilize the software systems we have to take notes on the road -Minimal opportunities to advance -Management does not consider account managers as assets to the organization- as soon as you quit, it's no sweat off their back, they'll hire someone new to put right into the open territory. They repeat this process over and over again because barely anyone stays longer than 2 years.

Pros

My experience working with the Red Cross has been great. The work is fulfilling and the people are passionate. Benefits are good - Kaiser is $6 a month!

Cons

There is work life balance, but there is an expectation to work nights and weekends.

Pros

Flexible remote hours, supportive team that treats volunteers as contributors rather than interns, and a low-pressure environment

Cons

Tooling is limited compared to corporate environments — primarily Excel-driven, so you won't get exposure to modern BI stacks (Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake) unless you bring them in yourself. Data sources are inconsistent (legacy .xls files, manual exports requiring conversion), so expect clean-up work.
