Pros
Alva fire is a small very tight nit fire house. The quality of life at Alva is amazing we are all about family and community. My family is welcome at the station at anytime and we all care for each other. No big department politics. Benefits are truly amazing as well even the big departments can not match cost of coverage.
Cons
Smaller budget, Although Alva fire is a great place to work in terms of quality of life the budget is smaller and the pay is less. There is also few openings due to the size of the department.
