Pros

There was nothing good about this place.

Cons

- I was catfished into the job. During my interview process the interviewers were raving about all the exciting clients they were working with like Nintendo and Lululemon. However once I was hired and started the only clients they had were small credit unions who were using 1980's technology. - Terrible CFO (aka the CEO's wife). During my first week, I was called into her office and lectured me because I did not log 40hrs of billable work and had the audacity to ask me if I'm going to make it up during the weekend. There was no onboarding and my manager was not even there during my first week. How can you expect a new hire to be producing work without any guidance? - All the designers left within 3 months of starting the job - Terrible leadership CEO hired a Design Director without consulting anybody include the Chief Product Officer - The entire business shifted to VR/AR because CTO was a big VR/AR enthusiast. The funny thing is that they till this day they never landed a VR project.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're genuinely sorry to hear about your negative experience during your time with us. It's certainly concerning to learn that your expectations weren't met and that you felt misled during the interview process. We deeply regret any miscommunication regarding the clients we work with. While we do engage with a variety of clients, including smaller credit unions and gaming organizations, there has been a variety of clients we've successfully completed projects with in the past in which some have returned, while some are fully satisfied with the long term solution we provided to them and no longer require our support. We acknowledge the importance of transparency in these matters and will strive to ensure that future candidates have a clear understanding of the scope of our projects and the stages of the projects. Regarding your concerns about leadership and onboarding, we take these matters very seriously. It's essential for our new hires to feel supported and guided as they transition into their roles. We apologize for any lapses in our onboarding process and as a new hire several tools are utilized during the employee journey, and will work on improving the communication around the benefits such tools to the employee journey. Your comments about turnover and leadership decisions are heard. We recognize the impact that these issues can have on team morale and productivity. We are committed to fostering a positive work environment where all team members feel valued and heard. Your feedback will be taken into consideration as we work towards improving our leadership practices and team dynamics. During this time, we've implemented approval processes for opening new roles which is an inclusive process. As for the focus on VR/AR projects, we understand your frustration with the direction of our business. While we value innovation and exploration in emerging technologies, we acknowledge the importance of balancing these initiatives with tangible client projects. We are proud of the hard work, patience, and dedication of our people, and have successfully delivered a VR project to a valuable credit union client who is a huge advocate of our work for the impact it's made on the learning and growth of their members. We will reevaluate our priorities to ensure that our efforts are aligned with the needs of our clients and the expertise of our team. Once again, we appreciate your candid feedback and regret any disappointment you may have experienced. Your insights are invaluable to us as we strive to create a better workplace for all employees. If you have any further concerns or would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly. Sincerely, Tammy, HR Director

Pros

AEQ is truly entrepreneurial. We are striving to be leaders in our field, and going for it. This year we were awarded with many industry awards which signified that we are focusing on the right stuff - really sharpening our craft and hiring the right people.

Cons

We are in high growth start up mode. We grew about 500% since I joined. This means growing pains, but I have worked in three start ups and what we are experiencing is typical.
