Pros

Work From Home. YEAH!!!!! Every Single Day. YEAH!!!! The undisputed champion of WFH!!! Family friendly environment. They really care about people. First time I have seen a contracting company work so hard in finding new positions for people on the bench. Keep it up ASM! Standing ovation for that. Nice friendly people to work with. Nice work location. They care about their customers. Oh Yeah, Work From Home.. YEAH!!!

Cons

Crappy health coverage. The middleman they use for their BCBS PPO medical plan reject you for covered benefits. Won't return calls, lie constantly about taking care of things and never do. I would fire them in one second flat if I could. One second. No room to grow, no matter how hard you try. Lack of highly technical jobs for hardcore techies. Easy work that doesn't build any real experience. Only 3 weeks of PTO. Pathetic 401k match and super long vesting period. They don't approve training very easily.

Pros

ASM Research provides a collaborative engineering environment that empowers technical professionals to take ownership of massive, enterprise-scale performance architectures. The leadership strongly recognizes dedication and impact, creating a culture where mentoring peers and driving operational excellence are deeply valued. It is an ideal workplace for engineers who thrive on solving complex technical challenges while safeguarding mission-critical systems.

Cons

While ASM Research offers great stability, the specialized nature of long-term government contracts can sometimes slow down the adoption of modern, open-source automation tools and frameworks. Navigating the rigid compliance and bureaucratic layers required for federal systems can occasionally extend project timelines and administrative overhead. Additionally, engineers looking for rapid exposure to fast-paced, commercial tech stacks may find the environment more focused on maintaining and optimizing legacy enterprise architectures.

Pros

Training was good. Coworkers are helpful.

Cons

The pay! $18.81/hr is not worth the amount of work you have to do. They told us in training that there would be a minimal of 3 inbound calls. That was a lie. I've had more than 4 calls come through within the first 2 weeks. The amount of outbound calls you have to make are insane. It's a waste of time. And don't do the evenings because you'll do double the work on outbound calls with no pay differential. Everything is on a spreadsheet and the system that you do use doesn't work.
