Pros

Hybrid working model A few dedicated and intelligent colleagues Lovely customers

Cons

Cannot retain staff - and no questions asked why people are leaving on mass Micromanagement from inexperienced, unskilled, and minimally educated managers An obsession with metrics: quantity over quality mentality Has a data management but no idea how to make it work productively as there is a rapid turnover in Salesforce Administrative staff Media campaigns promising services that do not exist can be deemed false advertising SC carry out complex work that is on going on low wages... wages do not match the knowledge needed, nor the skills, complexity of cases.Unlivable wage! Workers who upskill not recognised as valued contributors to organisational success No professional development nor progression.... staff are mere seat warmers who must do as they are told. Toxic work culture Management have no clue on professional behaviour, how to support older persons from a social care point of view, nor matters pertaining to safeguarding, consent, autonomy or promotion of citizenship. Training and kndiction is woeful and has systematically deteriorated over time No incentives No benefits No pay rise in 2023

Pros

Good pay for the industry. Many people pick up others’ slack. Employees that actually work hard don’t get rewarded by the company but there’s a sense of achievement from within.

Cons

A company more focused on creating processes than following them. More focused on enforcing archaic organisational policies (such as making a hot desk policy dictating what days the employee comes in from now on and where they sit” and making lives of employees rather than actually making it a productive place to work at. If a promising and dedicated employee joins, they either quit in a few months, or are converted into an unproductive “robot”. The managers couldn’t be more obsessed with power tripping rather than actually helping employees. Projects that could take weeks take months, and sometimes more than a year.

Pros

Working with ALONE is not for everyone. The role comes with clear expectations and requires real commitment — this is not a place where you can hide behind remote work or avoid responsibility. The work can be challenging and, at times, demanding. It will test your resilience, adaptability, and leadership skills. However, these challenges are exactly what make the job so rewarding. You will be part of a dynamic and motivated team, supported to deliver excellent services to as many people as possible. If you’re not afraid of hard work, and you want to lead with purpose while contributing to a lasting legacy, this is the right place for you.

Cons

ALONE is an organisation in the middle of exciting change and rapid growth. This means the work can be fast-paced and sometimes demanding, as new systems and priorities are introduced. It won’t always be easy, and flexibility is essential. However, this challenge comes with great reward: you’ll be supported by strong processes, clear policies, and an excellent compliance record, giving you the structure needed to succeed and grow alongside the organisation.
