Pros

The customers are very nice for the most part.

Cons

ZERO work life balance. They expect you to be on call 24/7. If they didn't schedule properly and get busy you are EXPECTED to be available to come in. Twice I was unavailable to drop everything to come in earlier than scheduled and was in trouble. Never mind the 10 times I had come in early prior to that. Quotes from upper management " it's not a job, it's a lifestyle". "it doesn't have to be clean, it just has to look clean". "Why are you taking so much time with customers, we've already been shopped this month" Referring to mystery shop. The customer service rules apply only before being mystery shopped each month. They promise 45 hours a week then cut hours when not busy. All smoke and mirrors.

Pros

Great pay Hours were always there The manager at my location is a rare gem. Never had a boss quite like him. Everyone I worked with became like my family.

Cons

EXTREMELY physically demanding. I injured myself multiple times while I worked there.

Pros

+ industry leading wages Associates - $12/hr, Shift Mgr - $16/hr, SMT - $23/hr, Store Manager - $75,000+/yr + great work environment + excellent training + health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k + 40-50 hr/wk with paid overtime Very fast paced so work hours fly by. I loved working at Aldi. The pay was great! Benefits great! Was training to be a store manager so a lot was expected of me but I was totally up for it. My store manager loved my work, associates loved my fairness, customers loved me.

Cons

+ work/life balance + walked 28,000 steps/day!!! Never thought I would be fired for clocking in only minutes late!!
