    Pros

Relaxed work environment, very self-directed work. Lots of autonomy in the field, no micromanagment. Great work place for during school, and has lots different channels to potentially grow in.

    Cons

Can't think of much for Dyson. Except Dyson Canada is fairly flat structure in terms of vertical movement. need to move to head office in England to vertically grow or go into other channels

    Advice to Management

Great management here in Canada! Has a solid team of support, really don't have much things to say about the management other than keep up the good work. Dyson really live up to its name in terms of being a global company!

I worked at Dyson full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to develop your technical skills in terms of their machinery.

    Cons

Interactions between departments is zero to none. And you are in the same office. Sometimes I think other departments were afraid to interact with the call centre representatives.

    Advice to Management

Back up your workers because of the customers who call into the call centre absolutely live in a bubble.

I worked at Dyson full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work environment was great with negligible political tension. The brand is fantastic and the people are very high energy.

    Cons

Management is too rooted in their own ideas to consider any ideas deviating from the workplace norm. The marketing department is lacking significantly, focusing their time on menial tasks rather than innovative forms of communication. The pay-grade is certainly disappointing for such a premium brand.

    Advice to Management

Foster the development of new ideas and ingrain some core working values into the corporate environment - no one really knows what they're working for or what the bigger picture is.

    Advice to Management

Better training programs, clear paths for promotions and growth

    Pros

    Benefits
    People
    Culture
    Flexibility
    Open door policy

    Cons

    Lack of leadership skills
    Salary
    long hours

    Advice to Management

Hire educated and smart people so the direct reports do not suffer under the hands of uneducated people. The company has a lot of potential so hire the right people so the company can actually rise up.

I have been working at Dyson part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very helpful with development, encourage internal progression, recognition of achievements, ever-changing and exciting company

    Cons

Difficult to access full bonus at times (but being made easier progressively), most difficulties are found with the retailer that you are based in and no matter how much support this is very difficult to overcome

    Advice to Management

Ensure that there is enough management cover to support the colleagues, this hasn't been the case recently and issues have started to arise within the region

I have been working at Dyson full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have listed many cons but paradoxically enjoy working at Dyson, it is fundamentally flawed but i work in a great team with a sensible and decent manager.

    Good salary
    Training opportunities
    Convenient commute
    It's seldom dull!

    Cons

Investment is all in the product and engineering and the back office teams receive very little in the scheme of things.

Inefficiently run, money is haemorrhaged through poor investments (new people system) and mistakes do not appear to be learned from

    Poorly designed buildings.

Poor management in a lot of areas, could stand with replacing alot of the chaff.

Lack of coherent processes, largely because Dyson has expanded at a dramatic rate and processes were not designed to cater for this - what works for a place of of 250 staff doesn't work for 10,000!

RDD feel they should be exempt from any processes and be allowed to do whatever they like.

    Reduction to staff discount

    Inadequate gym

    The EV

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the crap staff that you know exist - particularly in management
Don't be so RDD focused at the expense of the rest of the company
    Give us our discount back
Stop the EV and invest in products and technology that will actually turn a profit and don't risk breaking the bank
