Pros

Monthly "back to base" meetups to knowledge share Some smart people.....

Cons

Sydney office has some weird politics. Undercurrent of demotivated, burnt staff. Toxic vibe. Uncommitted people. Pay isn't spectacular. .. Be wary of base salary vs total remuneration (with super) charade Expect to pay/salary sacrifice for your own laptop!!!! Delivery managers protecting turf. No real project/delivery process. Expect to work on legacy, dreary projects until you earn your stripes, irrespective of experience. Sink or swim culture. Glamour projects/seminars for the Golden children. Lots of on-site work. No 4G dongles/wifi reimbursement. AWS affiliates but.... Training? Career development ?? Sales people playing as puppeteers...

We are disappointed that that you had a bad experience with us and even more disappointed to find out an employee has left with negative feelings about the company and their time here. We understand sometimes it’s just not a good fit, and we send our best wishes for your happiness and success in your new and future roles. We do also feel it's important to address some of the points made. We actively seek interesting work, and we provide ways for our consultants to gather and share insights about the areas/practices they are interested in through regular grassroots-led special interest groups. In addition, we bring the whole office together once a month at a ‘Back to Base’ event, so everyone can find out what’s been happening across the company and in each other’s projects. Our review process provides a guide for developing skills that is industry best practice for a role, as well as supporting individuals to proactively think about their future and support them to set goals and achieve; to help them on their journey. We see our laptop policy as a positive - it was an idea born from one of our Hack Days, drafted by our consultants, and is designed to give our consultants flexibility to choose their own tool of trade through the ability to salary sacrifice any extra funds they choose to spend over the agreed allowance. All colleagues are provided with the opportunity to attend at least one conference annually, as a matter of policy, and everyone is encouraged to deliver interesting seminars at our well-attended SIGs. If you’re a natural learner that enjoys using emerging tech to convert complexity into success, you might be the right fit; realistically a ton of complexity is often what we face at project outset, and part of the satisfaction is resolving and transforming it and delivering success for our clients. But we understand that isn’t the role everyone desires. We truly wish you all success and satisfaction moving forward. Kind Regards, The DiUS People team

Whilst it’s part of life, it is always sad when people leave our organisation, and we are disappointed to find out that you have left with negative feelings. We understand that sometimes it’s just not a good fit, and we send our best wishes for your happiness and success in future roles. DiUS has been built around enabling autonomy within our workforce and our resulting flat structure is not for everyone. We believe in the teams on the ground working closely with our clients to steer their own engagement, rather than a top down management led approach. We are certainly passionate about creating space and opportunity for individuals to grow, and see this as a key strategic target of our business. This can take the form of providing internal and external training, conference attendance, certifications, on the job growth through mentoring and support, as well as supporting peer based knowledge sharing groups. This provides support for employees to proactively shape their future career the way they want. Whilst some people struggle with this more ambiguous growth and goal setting, we feel it provides the best environment for the majority of our workforce and fits within the way our business operates. We’ve designed our remuneration policy to be simple, straightforward and in line with industry standards. Salary reviews are in line with individuals growth and the contribution they bring to our customers and our organisation. We truly wish you all success and satisfaction moving forward. Regards DiUS
