      University leadership is lacking, enrollment is down

      Pros

      - Good people in athletics department who were fun to be around - Town is supportive of the athletic programs - State retirement, 401k match is great

      Cons

      -University leadership is out of touch with reality at school, it felt like they knew there were problems but did not want to address them. -Admissions office was a disaster, constantly a revolving door of new employees. -Enrollment has been declining for 10+ years (there are 2 or 3 dorms completely empty) -Pay is lower than average -Departments do not work together or communicate effectively to handle small tasks

      Pros

      Small school environment, extremely collaborative and very supportive colleagues. Job Autonomy and flexibility of time. DSU has a wonderful, positive, happy overall climate. Free access to fitness center, exercise classes, and reduced price performing arts and sports admissions.

      Cons

      Leadership attempted to micromanage. Slow to innovate -- hangs on to older methodologies. Need meeting norms to be more productive and not waste time.

      Pros

      I only had a work-study job, but it was very flexible and depending on which area you assisted in, it could have a fun atmosphere, especially in the music department!

      Cons

      The location was in the middle of the delta, so if you want to do anything interesting, you have to drive at least 2 hours north to Memphis or south to Jackson.
