Pros

- WFH - Great team to work with

Cons

- very corporate (expect a lot of politics - if you want to succeed you really have to be a show off with your work) - lots of micromanagement - low pay, lower than average - expect to move around between teams, because you are just a body filling an empty chair and they are too cheap to hire a new person for a role so they will make other employees suffer with extra work - company cheaps out on employee appreciation - workload is too high for the salary you are getting - they will make you do a 2 person job and not give you a raise or any appreciation for that - small mistakes will be blow out of proportion - be careful with what you say to management - it will be used against you - software is very outdated, sometimes it makes it difficult to do your work

Pros

Definity days where you can days off from work to do personal duties is nice

Cons

Changed the hybrid to 3 times a week in office, they will surely increase overtime to a in-office environment when they were so keep on promoting work-life balance. Workload is overwhelming, people leave and the work gets divided to the remaining teammates who are burning out. When asked to hire more people to help out, they wait till the last minute to hier and still... hire the wrong people for the wrong role instead of helping the team in need. The leaders don't have accountability, "not my problem" attitude and when solutions by their employees are suggested they always shut it down. Not supportive. Vacations are not for everyone you have to bid and they will allow only a few people at the time for same vacation days.

Pros

People and colleagues usually are helpful

Cons

Toooooo much workload, almost No OT Lack of collaboration. Top-down management style atleast in claims. If you want to grow you will have to work beyond working hours and show good numbers. Leaders are okay however Middle managers are completely out of touch with the ground. No nuance or context focus only on numbers.

A Great Place to Build a Career with Supportive Teams

Pros

I genuinely enjoy working at Definity. I’m fortunate to be part of a great team and have had the opportunity to work with supportive and inspiring leaders. There has been real room for growth in my role, and I’ve been able to connect with people across many areas of the business. The culture overall feels positive and collaborative, and I do believe it’s a great place to work. Compensation is generally fair, though there are still some small disconnects at times. Benefits are solid and comparable to other organizations, and vacation entitlement is very fair. With the Travelers acquisition underway, I’m hopeful for even more opportunities to grow, learn, and showcase my skills to a broader audience.

Cons

Workloads can be high depending on the department, and I’ve noticed higher turnover in some areas. Additionally, there are moments when recognition feels inconsistent. Sometimes it feels like certain leaders overlook the importance of acknowledging their people for positive contributions—not just when something goes wrong. Recognition goes a long way, and more consistent positive feedback would make a meaningful difference. At times, it can also feel like the senior leadership team is a bit removed from employees at the front lines. More visibility and connection from SLT could help create a stronger sense of alignment across the organization.

Pros

Colleagues are talented and supportive. Work itself is interesting and impactful.

Cons

Management sets unrealistic expectations and pressures employees heavily. HR is aligned with management, making it difficult to address concerns. Recognition and support are minimal, leading to burnout.
