Pros

Work with some great people and the pay is decent.

Cons

This place used to be great, but it has completely deteriorated over the past year. Remote work eliminated: What was once a fully remote position now requires mostly in-office attendance on a fixed schedule. Minimal time off: The company provides only the legal minimum paid time off—nothing more. Don't believe recruiters if they describe the time-off policy as "unlimited", that's a huge lie. No work-life balance: The workload is excessive, and colleagues will contact you at all hours of the day and night. Work-life balance is nonexistent. Forced AI adoption: Management pushes AI tools on employees at every opportunity. Layoffs despite growth: The company conducted a large round of layoffs despite strong revenue growth and ongoing hiring. The saddest part is that this company used to be excellent, but leadership stopped listening to employees and everything has gone downhill. They even removed our open forum for anonymous questions and feedback right before implementing a wave of anti-employee policies. I have never worked at a company with this much animosity toward its employees.

Note: Over the past 10 days, we’ve received a much higher-than-usual volume of Glassdoor reviews. We’ve flagged this activity with Glassdoor for review. Regardless, we take all feedback seriously and will continue to respond thoughtfully and transparently. Thank you for sharing your perspective. For long-tenured team members, periods of change can feel especially stark, and we recognize that DealMaker today looks different than it did in earlier chapters. Over the past year, the company has intentionally evolved as we entered a new stage of growth. Our return-to-office approach is a deliberate investment in collaboration, mentorship, and skill development, and sits on the lower end of in-person expectations for technology companies at our size and stage. This shift, along with clearer operating standards, reflects how we are building for long-term scale and performance. We also believe that AI fluency is essential to the future of work and have invested accordingly to equip our team with tools and skills that create leverage and reduce manual effort — not add burden. Decisions around staffing and structure are made deliberately, with the long-term health of the business and our customers in mind. While these choices are not always easy, they are part of ensuring the company remains strong, focused, and well positioned for what’s next. DealMaker today is different by design. This stage requires adaptability, ownership, and comfort with change. It isn’t the right fit for everyone, and that’s okay. We appreciate the time you spent at DealMaker and wish you well in your next chapter. We actively gather feedback through multiple channels and encourage team members to share input with leaders, the People team, or through our ongoing anonymous feedback channel as part of that continuous effort.

Misaligned Values and Unstable Workplace

Pros

there is NOTHING positive to add

Cons

My experience at this company was deeply unprofessional and highly pressuring. The culture does not reflect the values the company claims to stand for and leadership shows little concern for building a people team that treats employees with respect. Turnover is constant, with employees being let go abruptly and without clear justification. Interactions across teams were often rude and dismissive, with little respect for others or their time. While seniority exists, it did not justify the condescending tone and lack of professionalism in communication. Promising benefits during interviews that were never going to be delivered. Overall, there was minimal transparency, support or stability.

Regardless, we take all feedback seriously and will continue to respond thoughtfully and transparently. Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry this was how your time at DealMaker felt. Respect, professionalism, and clarity matter deeply to us, and when we fall short, we take that seriously. Disrespectful behaviour is not acceptable at DealMaker, regardless of role or tenure. As a former employee, your experience reflects an earlier chapter of the company. Over the past year, we’ve been intentional about clarifying our values, strengthening expectations around communication and behavior, and aligning performance and decision-making more clearly across teams. We’ve also evolved our hiring approach to ensure better alignment upfront, so expectations are clear on both sides. We continue to invest in building a workplace that is transparent, high-standards, and fair as we scale. Feedback like this helps inform that work as we learn and improve. We actively gather feedback through multiple channels and encourage team members to share input with leaders, the People team, or through our ongoing anonymous feedback channel as part of that ongoing effort. We appreciate the time you spent at DealMaker and wish you well in your next chapter.
