Great Place To Work

Pros

I have been a developer at Credibly for over a year, and overall, it is a very solid place to build a career in Fintech. It has a high-growth, "startup-y" feel, but with the stability of a profitable company. Pros: Modern Tech Stack: Engineering is currently in a technology revitalization phase, moving toward modern, relevant tech like Python APIs, React, and robust AWS services (DynamoDB). Great Culture & People: The engineering culture is collaborative and supportive. Coworkers are smart, motivated, and always willing to help. Leadership Accessibility: The leadership team is transparent and approachable, with weekly company-wide meetings where you can ask questions directly. Opportunities for Growth: There is room to learn and grow, especially if you are proactive about taking on new challenges.

Cons

Mandatory RTO Policy: The main downside is the recent, rigid return-to-office mandate requiring 3 days a week in the Southfield, MI office. There is little flexibility allowed for switching days, even if you are ill.

Pros

Supportive and communicative managers who genuinely care about their teams. Fair PTO accrual and flexible time-off approval. Strong health insurance and benefits compared to many competitors. Leadership regularly recognizes and celebrates employee achievements.

Cons

Pay doesn’t match workload. Raises average 1–3% despite increasing expectations. Lower than average base pay for the industry. Bonus structure changes often, making higher tiers harder to achieve. Heavy focus on metrics and micromanagement makes the job feel more like a call center than an analytical role. Noticeable favoritism between offices — Michigan receives more perks and events than Arizona. Hybrid policy was poorly communicated and enforced without consideration for long commutes. Frequent policy changes cause confusion, and underwriters often get the most complex work without extra time or pay. Company-wide meetings often highlight record profits, yet employees see no real financial benefit. Promotions offer minimal pay increases ($1–$2/hour), relying too much on inconsistent bonuses.
