Pros

I was only there for a few months but noted that HR does an excellent job of finding people passionately dedicated to the mission of this organization. If you share progressive values, embrace diversity, sincerely want to see the rise of social justice, this place could suit you quite well. You will help to improve the lives of many people and see the tangible results of your efforts. Upper management creates an environment conducive to camaraderie and shows genuine respect for everybody. It also appears to be a great setting for anyone with an interest in human services, a proving ground for those who wish to become social workers and psychotherapists.

Cons

Many of these people work too hard. Many people in our society do not understand the importance of this work and the needs that this organization seeks to address would actually require at least six times the contribution from society, and so you will also see some sad things.
