It's a shame this person doesn't feel comfortable expressing these feelings directly to me, our complaint line, or responding to one of the many anonymous surveys we have conducted during his or her tenure. We have an Open Door policy that encourages staff to bring concerns to whomever they feel comfortable with and in a manner they feel safe. Best, Steve Coe CEO

Pros

Great mission. Some talented people.

Cons

Upper management clueless about workforce, tend to be very judgmental and play favorites. They lack transparency (they don't seem to know how to communicate). Poor fiscal manangement (two rounds of layoffs in the past three years).

Thank you for your feedback. We strive to be extremely transparent in everything we do, such as posting our financial information (audits and IRS 990) on our website. If anyone reviewing this information has any questions, please contact me directly (and yes, email addresses for all senior managers are on our website as well). To eliminate any favoritism, all hiring is done by committee and decisions are documented using a web-based management system. We also post new positions internally before they are advertised. The layoffs cited were strategic and allowed us to maintain a balanced budget and, most recently (2017), eliminated several management positions to free up funds to raise salaries of direct care staff by an average of 25%.
