Pros

I’ve been working at Collaborata for nearly 3-years and couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the work I’ve accomplished and the future for the business. As an early-stage startup, all members of the team have the ability to make a significant and immediate impact. Collaborata has a unique business model – they’re the only company in the research and insights space focused on bringing organizations together to share costs. This often means bringing together unlikely and surprising businesses to collaborate. These resulting partnerships can be fun and lead to transformational research. All Collaborata employees have stock options, and as a result, take ownership in their work. Because, well, we’re all technically owners. The company works out of a great co-working space in River North. Unlimited coffee, beer, you name it – all of the typical startup perks.

Cons

Building a startup is hard – there is no roadmap for what Collaborata is building! But, it’s that challenge that makes working at a growing startup so exciting and rewarding.

Pros

Collaborative, positive, flexible work environment Full benefits and salary Lots of room to learn, grow and advance I've been working at Collaborata for the past three years. Simply put, it's a great place to be. Collaborata is a startup, and with all startups come unique challenges, obstacles and benefits; but, that’s part of the fun! I couldn't see myself anywhere else. Even at the very beginning, when the business was still pre-revenue, Collaborata prioritized providing its employees with full benefits and salary. I really appreciated that we were spending a significant portion of our very limited budget on our own health and wellness. And, the CEO strongly believes that all members of the team should feel and behave as founding members: so, as part of the benefits package, Collaborata provides all employees with stock options. Like most startups, all team members wear a lot of different hats. While that makes some days a grind, requiring a lot of rote tasks and late nights, the environment here is extremely collaborative and positive. There's a significant amount of trust built up between each member, resulting in days that are both productive and challenging, in the best of ways. We communicate constantly. I appreciate that both strategy and tactics are collaborative decisions. All voices are heard as open dialogue is a priority. While we didn't raise funds last year, we still were able to grow more than 60% from the previous year. And the office environment is fun and relaxed. Office dog, beer on tap in a vibrant co-working space. We work hard with a clear goal in mind, while enjoying what we do and having plenty of fun along the way. The team fundamentally believes that we’re working to change the industry for the better and are excited about the road ahead.

Cons

Typical startup challenges - small team means lots of menial tasks
