I worked at Cobs Bread part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Coworkers were friendly and the staff discount allows employees to try different Cobs products.

    Cons

Management puts too much sales pressure on staff. Workers are trained to push customers into buying more products even if it makes customers uncomfortable. The work environment was much too competitive for a bakery. Sales averages are tracked for each employee and recorded on a white board in the staff area. Rather than providing incentives for employees to reach sales targets, the manager reduced hours for employees with low sales averages. This kind of competition creates an unhealthy and stressful work environment. Management also failed to provide regular performance reviews and pay raises.

I have been working at Cobs Bread part-time

    Pros

-flexible hours -very basic sales experience needed -coworkers are nice -free products at the end of day

    Cons

Only issue is how the owner really interacts with the bakery. Usually when there’s an issue with employees they rarely check up on it after complaints.

I have been working at Cobs Bread part-time for less than a year

    Pros

decent starting wage and wage increases with full training on each process of baking. The people that are bakers absolutely love doing it. The training is more than enough to feel confident doing the job

    Cons

with new bakeries it can take a while to find the right bakers and get everyone trained properly on each position. It is also hard to keep bakers as most people just aren't bakers. Our bakers start at 3 am and it is difficult to be awake at such an hour, bc of this mistakes happen often in the early morning setting back the entire days production. When first starting it can be quite overwhelming.

I worked at Cobs Bread part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free product every shift Treated well by customers Bonuses for mystery shoppers and campaign sales competitions Good closing hours (never had to work later than 8pm)

    Cons

Poor scheduling/limited notice of new shifts Tiring, repetitive work Not an "easy" job as minimum wage jobs go, had to know a lot about a wide variety of products and be very good at selling/recommending items personally. NOT environmentally conscious at all - no recycling bins, incentives to reduce waste, etc.

I worked at Cobs Bread full-time

    Pros

If you want to be belittled and humiliated on a daily basis, then this is the place.

    Cons

Immature management, constantly gossiping about employees and being rude without a reason. Manager Telling other employees that will fire other employee. Being rude to employee in front of the whole team and picking on absurd reasons to complain about your work.

I worked at Cobs Bread full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The staff was a blast to work with, most of the time. The customers were amazing and always happy to come in to the bakery. The high quality was upheld and you always felt proud of what you were offering your guest.

    Cons

Hours Location from home The owners do their best to hit all of COB's standards and requirements, but it doesn't leave a lot of wiggle room for anything else.
