Pros

The company's got solid product-market fit and is making money. There's a bunch of great folks working here who are not only nice but good at what they do. Checkr cares about its mission of a fairer future. The pay can be good if you know how to ask for it when you start. Good at what they do for gig companies.

Cons

The company struggles with weak planning and ineffective leadership at the top. There's a real gap between the executive team and what's actually happening day-to-day. There's been a high turnover in several top executive positions, which really says a lot. Decisions are rushed and often lack careful thought. Transparency needs to be a give-and-take; it's important to actually do something with the feedback from employees. There have been missed chances to create a strong, inclusive culture and to value diversity. Raises are pretty much a rarity. This is not a tech company, it's a background check company with some tech features.

Overworked for no growth

Pros

Decent pay. Work perks include occasional UberEats gift cards and fully comped off-sites/on-sites.

Cons

Management is incompetent at all levels from C-level staff all the way down to junior engineering managers. Very messy politics. Better to steer clear.

Pros

Middle management is accessible, work is remote & flexible, decent pay.

Cons

Strategic decisions are confused, not communicated well to employees. Career path is ambiguous and kept deliberately vague. Too much shuffling employees around.
