Pros

- Some of the people were nice - Immediate benefits upon hiring

Cons

I worked in an admin role here (CSA) and it was NOT what I thought I was getting into. The actual role varied immensely from what was mentioned in the job description, and I was always either absolutely overwhelmed or completely bored. The onboarding was non-existent, and speaking to other CSAs was not very helpful as everything varies based on what "team" you work with. Some of the people were nice and friendly, but there are a lot of corporate jerks here. People that won't speak to you because you're below them on the pay grade, a lot of yelling and shaming even when you follow instructions, and not a lot of clear guidelines. I was leery about taking this job initially (should have listened to the red flags going off) and it was a really bad experience. Conflicting instructions, everyone thinks they're top dog, no helpful feedback... If you're a young person interested in design, HR, finance, or admin, I'd recommend you take ANY job other than this. It's not worth the headache and anxiety.

Pros

The company has a nice office and okay benefits.

Cons

If you are not a broker, don't expect much from management. Expect to work long hours and be treated poorly. I have seen a lot of co-workers get pushed out of the company in recent months. If you are a CSA, you will not move up in the company, that is where you will always be. No proper training with internal programs. Poor direction.

Toxic Workplace

Pros

-Convenient location in Downtown -Nice office and views

Cons

-Demeaning workplace culture. You were never fully trusted with your work. Some brokers were extremely rude and very demanding and made you feel less. -Toxic masculinity. A lot of all male broker teams while the females were mainly the assistants/administrative staff and treated poorly. -Expected to work outside office hours with no overtime pay. No boundaries between brokers' requests to admin staff after hours. -Little to no training. -Lots of turnover. Many lay offs -Stuck in their old ways and not open to changes. -No workplace flexibility. Once things began to open up, expected to go back into the office full time. -No boost in workplace morale especially during COVID lockdown work from home situation. Very isolating, no checkins from management to check in on mental health, or workplace group zoom activities to build relationships with coworkers, not even lunch appreciation over Zoom. -Very cliquey -No career growth. Faster growth at other brokerages. -Not a good place for your mental health. -Hierarchy, treated like royalty if you make money for the business (i.e. top of the top brokers) vs administrative staff who support the brokers are treated bottom of the barrel. Even junior brokers and brokers who don't generate a lot of income are treated poorly, lots of work and effort for little to no reward or props.
