Pros

There's very little micromanagement, so long as the work you have is getting done people are happy enough to leave you at it

Cons

Management of the company is horrible, chain of communication is non-existent for anything important, at least in IT we are constantly stumbling from one disaster to another. The company goes through a cycle of not letting IT make any sorely needed system improvements and not letting us do anything important to a massive change brought through on government legislation. The systems are so old and rigid and dense and IT has kid gloves put on it by non technical staff who think you're a baby with a gun, it's frankly a little insulting

Pros

The people working here are excellent. A great young and lively team who enjoy working together. It’s the people that make this a good place to work but staff moral is still low. Good career progression if you have a genuine interest in progressing and are a good employee. The company encourages participation in and pays for Insurance exams and gives a free Travel Insurance Policy. Free parking around the building. Company wide pay rises were given each year I was there. Limited flexi time was introduced when I left from 8.30-9.30am. Quarterly team lunches/dinners are organised in addition to charity days to try and boost staff moral but again management seem reluctant to give staff minor benefits that keep them happy long term.

Cons

There is a lack of benefits however that attract staff to stay with the company long term. Very high turnover of staff in the call centre. Professional business services in the company dont seem to be able to retain staff due to lack of benefits. No sick pay. No Attendance Bonus. No Healthcare. No sports and social club. No option to work from home. No maternity benefit for staff not employed for five years. The lack of sick pay is a major negative factor amongst the staff and the lack of maternity leave for the female staff is disappointing. The younger people in the company wanted a sports and social club set up to help with staff moral but this was rejected.
