We understand that the Publisher role isn’t the right fit for everyone, and we aim to be as transparent as possible throughout the recruiting process about the model. For those who are a good fit, it can be an incredibly rewarding opportunity.

Pros

-First, I want to point out that BVM is 100% a legit company despite what some redditors say. They are very professional and offer a good amount of tools for you to succeed (for publishers in the field anyway). -They do all of the print & digital ads & fulfillment, the billing, they supply a good amount of marketing materials, and their Back Office system is comprehensive and always works great. -There are indeed people who make a lot of money in this space. They have "made it to print" and have built those connections to make it happen. -There is an (optional) conference call every morning focused on a different topic. The best is when you can listen to other publishers do cold calls so you can hear what they say.

Cons

-The biggest hurdles are: 1. The minimum contract commitment is 1 year. Business owners are very hesitant to commit to this, especially when you are brand new and haven't proven any results for them. 2. There are no free trials. With so many free offers out there these days, people want to try something before they commit to it long term. 3. The cost is not cheap. One of the first questions I get from a business owner is, "How much does it cost"? And although I can see the value in the package that we offer, owners are looking at the total cost. 4. I really wish the company would give more success stories. They have almost 20 years of data, but don't provide any case studies of business owners that have signed with publications and grown their business. 5. Cold calling. You will start out by doing cold calling. They advise you to do 45 calls per day. This is not tracked and up to you to do it. To BVM's credit, they did not sugar-coat this. Cold calling sucks and you need tough skin to push through. But, eventually, you start to make connections and have to do it less (at least that's what I've been told).
