Where to begin. The novelty of this company is thin and wears away quickly. The toxicity level of this company is one I’ve never experienced but heard about in legend. In 2022, I never thought to expect to experience and witness microagressions, passive-aggressive commentary, and ENCOURAGED bullying. There is a total lack of professionalism and respect. The company is family owned and operated by people who started off as store front employees. This Carrie’s with it a burden for current employees who have to deal with a level of toxic control, fake personas, zero trust, backstabbing, and zero business acumen. This company still exists despite the ownership because who doesn’t like to eat a BeaverTail? They have a complete disregard for franchise owner success and care only about how head office makes their money (read: executives). Many new stores are being opened without a plan for sustainability, doors will close in under five years for many franchise owners but the executive team doesn’t care because it’s not their money being spent. Staff are young and inexperienced and it almost feel likes it by design to maintain control over their professional naïveté. It feels like selective hiring; career changers, immigrants (hold over visas), predominantly female, all under 30…The team is timid at best and won’t ask questions, certainly they will never question. This who have stuck it out for a long time seem weirdly held to an invisible umbilical chord. They are also shielded from any of the above displays of unprofessionalism, treated for loyalty perhaps. Company priorities are set to have a tight grip on those who don’t know any better and don’t give a chance to those with actual experience in their field a chance. Maybe they are threatened by the intelligence of others. Any actual talented people hired can see through all of this quickly and don’t stick around.
