    Pros

    Other drivers can be supporting

    Cons

ceo doesn't know what happens in their own company, tones of racism and sexism with management members, lies to staff, misrepresents themselves, bad wages and bad hours with no home life, managers work to lower moral, only does the minimum when it comes to safety, managers promote fear with staff, don't care about workers or workers rights.

Thank you for your thoughts. We're not perfect - no organization is - but we are trying to make improvements where we can through things like our Work Environment Survey, employee recognition and employee engagement efforts. We're looking forward to focusing on moving ahead and what positive changes we can make!

I have been working at BC Transit full-time

    Pros

The work is challenging (sometimes a bit too much of it) and for the most part my supervisor listens to my ideas and asks for my input. The benefits are great and I love my health spending account! People here are great to work with and I feel that what I do here makes a difference - we really do connect people with their communities!

    Cons

The pay is not as good as private sector. BC Transit is going through a lot of change and sometimes it's challenging to keep pace.

I worked at BC Transit full-time

    Pros

Great people, obvious company goals, nice office. Senior management is good and visionary, middle management not-so-much, worker level excellent.

    Cons

Processes between depts is difficult as condescension between them runs rampant, there's a definite unspoken hierarchy, and if you aren't in a 'good' dept you will find it difficult to get work done as the nature of many of the depts needs collaboration. As I said in pros, the problem exists in the middle management layer in most cases.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. As you know first-hand, BC Transit is an organization with a number of divisions (as well as 5 office locations throughout greater Victoria!) and there’s no question that communication is a challenge, but one we’re aware of and working hard on to improve with the help of those same employees.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your time here and your comments are definitely concerning. Having said that, the majority of people who work here provide favorable feedback as to their experience. It is impossible to have everyone engaged, but I wish we had a chance to talk about the things you found wrong, as we are working hard on improving the workplace.
