Pros

Staff is friendly and atmosphere is generally relaxed.

Cons

The company is now managed by non qualified investors who are clueless on how to manage a company of engineers which is part of the reason why the staff is departing by the masses. Everyone is looking for a new job. The leadership is very good at wasting tax payers money on non important items and just plain blundering of contracts. The HR department is generally against the employees and seeks to appease only the investors. This company is poorly managed and as a result their product is full of defects and bugs which is kept behind closed doors and unknown to their customers. Top guys are highly paid for playing golf all day and blowing smoke.

Pros

The turnaround from 5 years ago is jaw dropping. Leadership has a clear vision with a very strong technical team underneath them.

Cons

Staffing woes, we are not hiring enough folks for the work. It will come with time...

Great benefits and flexibility; lack of leadership

Pros

Azure is a small defense contractor that specializes in extremely complex engineering solutions. The work environment is casual and friendly. The company provides amazing benefits to its employees. Its medical insurance is one of the best I've ever seen and lowest cost to employees - the company pays for a very large portion of it. PTO is generous, and the company pays out end-of-year bonuses more often than not. Engineers get opportunities they might not get at other companies, including opportunities to write SBIR proposals, manage small programs, and communicate directly with customers. There is fairly good flexibility in scheduling, and it's not uncommon to see a kid in the halls every once in a while so that parents can balance the needs of work and family.

Cons

There's been a lack of leadership at Azure for a very long time (years). Recently, a pair of new investors have taken over, and they are getting more involved. It is clear they want what's best for the company, but change is slow, and - like many companies - communication isn't always as good as it could be.
