      Pros

      Good exposure to policy issues and discussion. With frequent workshops and conferences, there are ample networking opportunities—good starting point for fresh graduates.

      Cons

      RAs are locally hired, so the benefit package is limited; no allowance or insurance is included either. No opportunities to attend international conferences, even though RAs contribute a lot to report writing.

      Pros

      nice place to work while you are doing your PhD. work life balance is good.

      Cons

      the scientists are sometimes not selected competitively, some countries because of the power within the ADB second/appoint people to ADBI. This results in seniors that are perhaps not in capacity building, science etc. There was a sexual harassment case of Korean seconded to ADBI.
