Pros

I spend my time collecting field data, reviewing maps, and preparing survey information for different projects. Field assignments throughout the week. Detailed project documentation. The employees are professional and easy to work with.

Cons

The job requires a significant amount of travel and there’s no way around it.

Traveling and doing important work

Pros

You visit different types of healthcare facilities — hospitals, nursing homes, ambulatory clinics — and assess them against federal and state requirements. The work is important for patient safety, and you develop specialized expertise that's valuable across the healthcare sector. The team shares best practices and experienced surveyors are willing to help you develop your assessment skills. There's good pay and benefits (including travel coverage).

Cons

Fatigue can settle in during weeks with lots of travel and back-to-back site assessments.

Pros

I have nothing positive to say about Ascellon itself, but the coworkers I worked with were genuinely great. Without them, the experience would have been far more unbearable.

Cons

Employees are overloaded with crushing workloads due to being forced to handle multiple roles Pay is unacceptably low compared to similar positions at other companies Compensation does not match the level of responsibility or effort required Constant multitasking across roles leads to exhaustion and burnout Persistent high stress with no relief since starting the role Effort and workload feel unrewarded and undervalued Overall conditions make the experience extremely draining and unsustainable
