Pros

Hired as APT but before starting, Mastercard decided after a few years to integrate APT. APT had a good interview process, good junior peers to work and network with, and was like a startup before Mastercard changed things.

Cons

Mastercard integrated APT into Mastercard Data and Services. They changed the promotion timeline to be longer and time based. People who started before the Mastercard integration were promoted to SDE II in 12 to 18 months and people who started after were only promoted in 18 months for a select few until who knows how long. 6 months can be a long time to juniors and it is one example of how processes changed. They got rid of the every 6 month pay increases they mentioned during the interview process. Lots of attrition and not much done about it
