Cons

Managers are bullies, they “hire within” they use managers from other departments who have no experience in that department and make them team leader they micro manage, test your mental health and they don’t increase your pay or pay bonus and LOVE have meetings for no reason at all

Pros

You're all in this together. Once you agree with colleagues that the office is reminiscent of a scene from Temple of Doom crossed with The Office work life becomes slightly more bearable. You make friends in the trenches. Sadly a friendship forged from hatred isn't exactly the strongest friendship. I no longer communicate with anyone here. Another pro is when you quit they treat you nicely for a week, probably in the hopes that you don't unleash a glass door review on them.

Cons

When I started on the job the training was non-existent. For the first day I just sat and watched someone doing a job, unrelated to my own. When I complained to the recruitment company (yes, Reed, you're complicit in this too) they said that it was normal and that I was expecting too much. I was then basically stitched up and made to speak with a manager who just said "it is what it is" in an attempt to be intimidating. This was within the first week. Whilst I worked there someone was fired for "not being polite". Totally ludicrous! Management try to rule with a climate of fear, which in turn increase turnover. I was once called into a team meeting to be told off for something I had nothing to do with. The issue in question was a letter to the team leader noting a few things that would help productivity. This was seen as a bad thing that basically deserved a scalding. I also experienced staff making islamaphobic, homophobic, transphobic, misogynist, and racist remarks. One HUGE issue I found was pay discrepancy. From a company that openly advertises that it fights the gender wage gap I found 3 examples of female staff being paid less than me in my team. I brought this up with HR and after a somewhat slightly heated discussion I was told they would look into it. They did eventually agree to correct this and give back dated pay, but this had to be brought to their attention. Before this when I asked people about their pay they told me that they were instructed that it was "illegal" to talk about it and that according to a member of staff they were told it was against the company handbook. After a quick bit off searching I found that this was all nonsense, which is when I a) handed my notice in and b) spoke to HR about this issue. There's so much more about this place I could go on but I'm sure no-one wants a dissertation on why this place is awful.
